The Second International Conference will take place in Shenzhen, China, on 24-26 October 2008, in conjunction with the 7th International Conference on Grid and Cooperative Computing (GCC 2008).
At this final dissemination event, EchoGRID will present the final roadmap as well as the latest achievements of the consortium.
Foreseen EchoGRID participation at GCC 2008:
* One keynote speech describing the roadmap overall results, vision.(24 October afternoon)
* Two sessions on topics related to the Roadmap and EchoGRID results (25 October)

Topic: Research perspective in Cloud Computing
- Morning session: 2 European and 2
Chinese speakers - Academic perspective.
- Afternoon session: Cloud Computing from an Industry perspective.
Feedback
from the participants will be analysed in order to verify the benefits
gained by participants, learn lessons for other event organisations and
particularly to obtain preliminary information on knowledge sharing
experiences, future co-operation development & future planned
activities. A Follow-up report & evaluation of results will be
compiled including recommendations, future steps
and conclusions.
Following this conference, EchoGRID organises an EU-China Cooperation workshop on 28 October 2008 in Beijing.
This workshop is organised to promote research collaborations between
China and Europe in the Grid, as well as Services and Software
Technologies areas.
Both European and Chinese representatives will gather for this workshop:
- the European Commission
- the Chinese Ministry Of Science and Technology (MOST)
- EU projects such as EchoGRID, BRIDGE, XTreemOS,
GridCOMP, EU-ChinaGrid, Qualipso and several other projects involving
chinese partners
- Chinese and European Industries (Huawei, China Mobile Research, Thales, Atos, ENG...)
The participating projects will present their
initial objectives and
their achievements in terms of cooperation between both continents.
This workshop is
also an opportunity for fostering relationships with European and
Chinese partners who are interested in EU projects, for developing
future FP7 proposals and for networking. This will also be a good
opportunity for project dissemination and collaboration activities.
