Welcome to EchoGRID
- Establish a common Grid research agenda, relying on European and Chinese experts, both from academia and industry;
- Consolidate this vision and promote cross-fertilisation between Grid-related projects and initiatives in Europe and China by interacting with the GRID research and industrial communities;
- Exchange experiences and best practices by selecting Grid Open Standards for Grid middleware and applications interoperability and by promoting the identification of guidelines for building a Standard Quality Assurance Process;
- Support lasting cooperation and establish tangible partnerships in the field through support activities and tools, ranging from a mobility programme for researchers, to a dedicated partner search engine.
- 3, 5 and 10 years roadmaps developing a shared European and Chinese vision of future GRID research perspectives for both research and industrial communities on which both sides may collaborate;
- a series of conferences and workshops open to both European & Chinese participants from research, industry, government, SMEs and user communities;
- a EU-China Interoperability Grid Plugtests to test and improve interoperability mechanisms of Grid middleware;
- a collaborative Multilingual Portal for grid-related resources

During the ICT'08 Event (25-27 November 2008, Lyon, France), EchoGRID had a joint booth (D20) in the International Village with the BRIDGE and GridCOMP EU projects, and led a networking session on future research priorities in the area of Grids on thursday 27 November. Echogrid November e-Newsletter Programme and presentations of the networking session available here This Networking Session offered the opportunity to connect EU & international players & explore future opportunities and priorities for industry-research collaborations across organizational & national boundaries. Representatives from enterprise, government & research discussed current achievements in Grid development & identify future research priorities and areas of collaboration based on extensive road-mapping work by EU projects together with the Grid community.
